SanctionsCheck, a division of Compliance Concepts, is a company that can assist you with the possible identification of individuals or entities that have been sanctioned, debarred or otherwise excluded from participation in federally funded health care programs.

Program Information

Compliance Concepts has developed SanctionCheck, a cumulative searchableexclusions database. SanctionCheck incorporates, into one database, theinformation obtained from government provided listings found in the Office ofInspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities, and the GeneralServices Administration’s List of Parties Excluded from Federal Procurement andNonprocurement Programs. The SanctionCheck service compares client submittedindividuals, entities and/or vendors against the information contained withinthe SanctionCheck database.

The HHS Office of Inspector General imposes exclusions on individuals andentities based on the authority contained in Sections 1128 and 1156 of theSocial Security Act.

Program payments will not be made to any entity in which an excludedindividual is serving as an employee, administrator, operator, or in any othercapacity, for any services including administrative and management servicesfurnished, ordeed, or prescribed on or after the effective date of thisexclusion. In addition, no payment may be made to any business or facility,e.g., a hospital, that submits bills for payment of items or services providedby an excluded party.

For an annual Subscription Fee, communities may submit their current employeeroster, new hires, or vendors either individually or in batch form, and theresults of the searches will be returned within 24-hours. Should there be apositive finding for an individual, the Exclusion Results Certification issuedfor each positive match will reflect whether or not the named party has beenreinstated. Communities can submit their requests in a database, a delimitedfile, or a spreadsheet application for the initial run. Then throughout the yearadditionally submissions may be sent via fax for new hires and vendors.
